KGSR fielding calls about reception problems

A staffer posted on facebook, ''If you have trouble receiving the station in town call 390-KGSR (6a-6p) and tell us where'' One listener responded he lived just south of Lady Bird Lake and was having reception issues, another says he can only hear it in his car now. Apparently there are winners and losers with their move to 93.3.

As with any move, I guess. The folks who ordered sports programming off 1530 to 104.9 never tried to listen to it in Northwest Hills!

For grins I see they are simulcasting KGSR on 107.1 HD-2. on HD Radio if the power goes well across the city it'll be interesting to see how well that might work.

I'm sure there won't be any complaints from north of the river or anywhere in Williamson County. They knew what they were doing. Whether it works is, of course, still open to question.

I've noticed that I can't get 93.3 on two radios in my house where 107.1 came in fine. No problems in the car.

I don't guess I ever knew there were reception issues with 107.1 to begin with...certainly not worthy of a frequency change.

I used to listen to 107.1 on the drive down from DFW. You couldn't get it til you got south of Belton.
Now it comes in around Waco on 93.3. The change works for me. Still, I find myself punching in 89.5 before very long.

Back in the old "70's Station" days I could pick up 93.3 in downtown Dallas occasionally. That signal is pretty much a north of Austin signal. I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish by putting KGSR there. 107.1 isn't really great, but its much better in the city than 93.3 is. Unless, of course they are trying to move or upgrade 93.3. Hmmmmmmm
