Re: And KILE FINALLY Gets a Construction Permit for Its Nighttime
I don't see the KHCB CP on either the Commission's CDBS site or at the AM Query site; however, I don't doubt that it's true. This will make KHCB one of only a handfull of old Class IV stations that are directional in the U.S. I also checked CDBS to see the current status of the KILE Night application and lo-and-behold, after more than six years of trying, looks like the RAFTT gang is finally successful. They were granted a CP for 1,000 watts at night just yesterday (Wednesday, July 19, 2006). It's a six-tower array which should have good signal over the western side of the city, pretty much everything inside the loop and the southwest burbs. Unfortunately, it will have little to nothing on the north and northeast side of the metro. Those guys have been battling the FCC for a very long time and have had numerous proposals shot down. It's good to see them with a win.
P.S. Bet their buyers are happy too.
