KHCB on 91.5

Now that KTRU has vacated 91.5, I have heard KHCB on it a few times.
Where is this translator coming in from? It is not listed on their page

Probably KHML out of Madisonville, which is a full C1.

Yes, it is KHML. Transmitter just north of Madisonville. I have frequently heard this station in the Cy-Fair area, which is well out of the range of the old K218DA signal. One of several stations that rebroadcast KHCB around the state; there is a station list on the khcb.org homepage.

The 10 watt K218DA signal coverage was about a seven or eight mile radius...I recall being able to receive it at 610 and 290, with the signal gone around 43rd @ 290. Pretty typical for that power level.

Just depends on which way the tropo is coming in.

If you are in the Monstrose/Heights area, check 91.5 for the transmitter at the Bubbles Express Car Wash on Washington between Studemont and Heights Blvd. Has an audio loop with Michael Garfield and Rosanne Rogers promoting the car wash services, features, how to's, and other related info. Signal gets out about 3/4 mile...I can hear it along Dallas near the AIG building; also along I-10 for a short stretch. Never noticed this when the KTRU translator was still on, so don't know how long the Bubbles transmitter has been operating.
