KHFI HD-Audio

I hope someone will FIX KHFI's HD Audio, it sounds horrible! The HD-2 channel sounds better than the HD-1. Either fix it or just cut it off!

The HD 1 audio is never going to sound as good as the analog FM signal because the bandwidth will not support it. The system is flawed and needs to go away.

No it doesn't need to 'go away', it needs people behind the scenes to care about the product. Anytime our HD-2's have a glitch we hear about it... from listeners! Put on a good or unique product, and people will listen.

Not with radios still in the $75-$200 range, engineers who consider it a bastard stepchild, and management that is slowly realizing that no one is listening due to the fact that, relative to the analog audience, practically no one is listening.

If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one listening, does it make a sound?

No, if that sound is carried on a HD-2 channel.

I never understood why there was so much hate out there for HD Radio. AM I'm not a big fan of. but FM I really enjoy listening to commercial free music (I refuse to pay for sat. radio).... I'd like to see HD signals increase in power.

High Definition Radio.....? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....

Spread the word. The HD in HD Radio stands for Hybrid Digital. It says so in Ibiquity's FCC filings. It is not high definition.

Hate...? To some extent, yes. But it's more, it's frustration...frustration at what could have been. Instead of cramming ten pounds of crap into a three pound bag, the FCC could have opened up and entirely new band for digital broadcasting, could have given C-QUAM the support it deserved, could have...well, you get the idea.

Instead, the FCC, bought and paid by you-know-who, approved a system that sucks money out of independent broadcasters and gives them inferior audio that, in the case of AM, interferes with other stations and in the case of FM, requires the listener to have a degree in Electrical Engineering as well as broadcast tower design to be able to pick up!

Damn you Ibiquity.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to SLAM KMFA here in Austin for wasting money on HD.

There....all the hate's gone now!
