First of all I'm not in the 25-54 range, I'm in the 16-34 crowd I'm 17 years old. KDAY is so much better than Hot 92.3.DavidEduardo said:BJordan said:If I hear another 70's hit. I'll lose my mind.
Are you a 30-49 second geneeration or beyond Hispanic female? That is the obvious target of the station, followed by Black females in the same demo and then males of the same two ethnicities.

The radio stations I do listen to are: 102.3 KJLH(Adult leaning Urban),Power 106(Urban leaning Rhythmic) KDAY(Gold leaning Urban Contemporary).
You don't get it. What David is saying is that YOU ARE NOT IN THE TARGET DEMO for KHHT. Of course you're not going to like it. At your age stations like KDAY, KIIS and KPWR would be more to your demo's liking. For their target audience, KHHT sounds just fine.
wdb2003 said:Yes bro I understand how you feel about radio here but its Los Angeles 2011 not Los Angeles 2001. Times have chaged and the demo is hispanics listen to radio more so companies have to appeal to them first. KHHT is for adults so its music is not gonna appeal to you. In my opinion its not in my demo but what can you do. Find another resource for music radio in Los Angeles is dead

I listen to alot of classic Hip Hop/urban music such as WC, Khia,Jaheim, Jon B., Foxy Brown, K-Ci & Jo Jo, Ja Rule,Faith Evans, Dru Hill, the good stuff. I just want to jump into a time machine back to the 90's lolAM FM listener said:BJordan said:First of all I'm not in the 25-54 range, I'm in the 16-34 crowd I'm 17 years old.
BJordan, I have noticed that you post a lot of nostalgia about the way radio used to be and you are only 17? Don't get me wrong, I think you are spot on with your observations most of the time so keep 'em coming. I am just wondering how in the heck do you know so much about radio back in the day at such a young age?
wdb2003 said:There's nothing wrong with that. When I get tired of my iheartradio app or my ipod ill listen to KJLH driving to work but you also have to remeber KHHT/KCMG has always attracted adults since day one. I use to be like you but life goes on. Radio in this market is not all that great anymore. Detorit, Atlanta, Dallas, San Franscio and New York have better choices for Urban music. I would say St. Louis but they lost their Beat 2 years ago. When you get older youll understand the market and the demos. It sucks
BJordan said:In February 1996 15 years ago we had good urban radio. There was 92.3 The Beat the best Mainstream Urban in L.A. KJLH was bearly making it in the ratings. Everybody and they momma had a 92.3 The Beat sticker on their bumpers. Power 106 became a KKBT clone.
