Larry!
Had I known back then that you were such a big fan of the station, I would have tried harder to sound decent on the air! LOL.
Actually I have nothing but fond memories of those days. With some of the constraints we had, it felt like we had one arm and one leg tied behind our backs, then told to go win the race. It wasn't quite as easy to laugh about it back then as it is now.
Talking about Jeff Chase, I remember an event that he and I - and Bill The Beerman - hosted at the Seattle Center football stadium. It involved a number of local high schools and was sponsored by Frito-Lay. It was the Crunchy Chips Olympics...or some such thing. The kids would compete in various events featuring delicious Frito-Lay products. And I recall that the last event was sort of an obstacle course, where at the end, the kids had to sing their school fight song into our microphones. However, the last thing they had to do prior to singing, was eat a handful of chips. You should have seen how gross the mics were after that. We were picking out little disgusting bits of chips from the wire screens for days! LOL. But there is one other memory from that day that makes me smile: Bill - who was a big-time collector of baseball caps - really liked the black KHIT caps we had. So I gladly gave him mine. R.I.P. Bill.
KHIT 107. The wacky stories just keep on coming!
