95.7 KHJZ Houston will be flipping to CHR as "Hot 95.7" in the next few days. :'(

Source?

Miss Cleo?

I think Hot 95.7 will either be a Rhythmic leaning CHR/Pop station (along the lines of Channel 93-3 San Diego), or a pure CHR/Pop that is very current-intensive. After all, thats what the hot hits sttaions in the 80s were about. KRBE is a very Adult leaning CHR/Pop and conservative in adding new music (thx to Jan Jaffries) yet they're one of the top ranking and top cuming stations in the country. Obviously someone sees the potential to launch another CHR in the market - something Houston hasnt witnessed since the days of 93Q vs. Power 104.

Wonder if it will be anything like Jammin 105.9?

So, would this affect KRBE in any way?

Since KRBE moved away from a pure CHR to a more adult female CHR, the hole was created by 104.1. Obviously, depending on the mix, it could impact the young end of KRBE.

Not a chance. Keep in mind the similarities between Jammin and the Movin format in places like Dallas and San Francisco.

KRBE is likely much closer to Jammin than Hot will be.

I have a feeling a Rythmic AC station is under works, but I maw be wrong. The logo is pink and blue. Do these colors ring up a "femenist" smell to anyone?

But if indeed this is a CHR station, then KRBE, "we have a problem".

listening to the stunt.....I hear listen at 3:00, I thought I also heard Michael Jackson and right now they are remixing the song "let the music play" from the 80's.......I smell that they are Movin.......they are just being "hot" about it.

3 P.M.

At least they are doing it better than Party 93.3 did. The Morning show screwed up the whole switch. "We know something you don't know" There was no much surprise there, but I guess there really wan't much they could do without letting their listeners know where to go after the flip.

Movin is failing for them in Dallas, Portland, and SF... why would they do it in Houston.

KRBE needs some competition.. and maybe since it's CBS owned Opie and Anthony will be heard locally...

speculate... speculate... copy/paste, copy/paste
