could be the fact that its an old RDS, in 1994 KHOM was brought out as Mix 104.1 hasn't been around since Clear Channel bought the 104.1 signal. It was changed to KUMX on Feb 2nd 1998 when Clear Channel finally took over and the studios were moved to 929 Howard Ave from the trailer in Houma. The call letters were then changed to KFXN when Mix went to 104.1 The Fox on June 29, 2001 (KFXN was offically legal on July 2nd 2001). A year and 2 months later on September 25th 2002 104.1 The Fox was flipped to 104.1 Kiss-FM and the call letters KSTE were picked up. On August 9, 2005 104.1 Kiss-FM was flipped to 104.1 Hallelujah and the call letters KHEV.

What was the model number on the radio?

If memory serves me correct, right before RDS came into america, Sony had a system on some of it's radios (mainly SWL radios) where the stations were preprogrammed into the memory of the radio but as stations changed on SW the display was useless..

Something like that might have happend here like that or when he stored the channel it was displaying that (my guess is he stored it in with the callsign himself as I don't think RDS came to 104.1 before the whole CC cluster got it a few years ago)

BTW, last time I checked a few weeks ago, I beleive 104.1 had "hallelujah" on the RDS.

FYI, an RDS analyzer showed that as of yesterday evening 104.1 had no 57 kHz (RDS) carrier energized.

Thanks.... I find however, CC and a few others have a habit of flipping the RDS on and off and that's why I had said a few weeks ago.... Haven't looked to see who's got it lately (I know WYNK flips it on and off in Baton Rouge)
