KHOU has changed its tune

On its 11 News broadcasts. The music is a whole lot different from the music I pretty much hear a lot. Obviously, the last package sounds like it had a techno-pop feel to it. Then, they replaced it with a guitar-driven soundtrack. I really don't like this new music, I'd rather have the techno-pop theme better-It's very fast-paced.
 
The price of "Evolution," the music used by KHOU and sister station WFAA in Dallas, apparently went up substantially on Jan. 1. Rather than paying, Belo dropped it in favor of something cheaper. The music you're hearing now is allegedly temporary while Belo scrambles to get something a little more appropriate. KVUE in Austin, another Belo station, had a different music package but has suffered the same fate.
 
I was just wondering if the expensive music package used by CBS-11 & Channel 8 (ABC in Dallas) sounded quite like Robert Myles' Instrumental "Children" ? I think it did had a strong vibe to it.
 
WFAA, KHOU as well as sister station WCNC Charlotte, NC are now using a custom package called Propulsion. It was made to include the everlasting "Spirit Signature" that has been heard in all the Stephen Arnold composed themes. This music is permanent and will probably be phased in at many other Belo properties. Sadly by dropping all Arnold themes it is an end of an era. WFAA had been using his packages since 1996 starting with the very familiar "The Spirit" package.
