KHOU pushes "Jeopardy" into late-night starting Monday.

Channel 11 gives the heave-ho to the Quiz-Show as well as the Entertainment News-Mag "The Insider", as both shows will be replaced by the new medical-talk show, "The Doctors".-Which happens to be a spin-off to "Dr. Phil". Ironically, it will be on at 3:00P Opposite Dr. Phil himself on NBC's Local 2-KPRC in Houston. I think Channel 11 might move both "Jeopardy" & "Wheel of Fortune" Over to ABC-13 (KTRK)-in Houston. It could work, though.

We'll see how long this show last. Usually at this point the new shows come and the new shows go. I would say Jeopardy would be back in a similar timeslot in three months or less. Just my opinion.

From what I heard, "The Doctors"(No Relation to the old NBC Soap) Really does sound like a very strong hit. It's like an hour-long show, and it has the backing of The Father & Son team of Dr. Phil and Jake McGraw. The show is moderated each day by EMT Physcian-And TV Bachelor Dr. Travis Stork, and it has a possibility of being around for a long time.

Seems odd they would put it on opposite of Dr. Phil. I understand that KHOU would want to draw audience from KPRC at 3, but wouldn't the McGraw's have a concern about this seeing as how large a market Houston is?

Strictly hypothetical, but if Wheel and Jeopardy!
moved to KTRK (which is the only ABC o&o that
doesn't carry them), where would they end up?
I can't see Channel 13 dropping the 6:30-7 PM
portion of their news for either game show.

KTVT/11 Dallas runs Jeopardy! at 11 AM (Y&R
airs at 11:30 there). Is there a morning slot
(9-10 AM) where KHOU could put Jeopardy!?
Or perhaps move Guiding Light to 9 AM and free
up 2-3 PM for syndicated shows?

KTRK isn't the only ABC O&O that doesn't carry Wheel and Jeopardy; WTVG in Toledo and WJRT in Flint carry The Insider/Entertainment Tonight and Judge Joe Brown/Judge Judy, respectivley. The CBS stations in both those cities (WTOL & WNEM) carry Wheel and Jeopardy!.

KHOU is committed to produce "Great Day Houston with Deborah Duncan"-a local morning talk show. which airs at 9AM. Guiding Light, on the other hand, remains at 2PM. Other CBS stations usually air "GL" at either 9 or 10A local time-Like for example, stations in Chicago, Boston, & New York airs "GL" in the morning. The only stations that don't carry "GL" at all are KOVR-TV in Sacramento, CA & WNEM-TV in Flint, Mich.

If "Jeopardy" & "Wheel" was on ABC-13, They'll put "Jeopardy" after "Millionaire" at 3:30P, And "Wheel" would follow "Eyewittness News" at 6:30P, but you might as well hold your breath-Both of these shows are'nt going anywhere, just yet.

If you guys in Houston are subscribers to Dish Network and get the Superstations package, you guys can watch Wheel/J! every night from 7-8 PM on WSBK TV 38 or channel 236 on Dish. However, it seems odd that DFW carries J! after Price because didn't that used to air on WFAA-TV for a long time? As for KHOU airing the show, it's great to see that Wheel remained unchanged at 6:30 PM, but moving J! to the late nights I think would see some major drastic ratings effect for the market.
