KHOU's Lucy Noland leaves for KNBC-L.A.

I'm glad she is upgrading to market #2. It must have been an adjustment to move from #1 to #11 (now #10). I think she might be on the network reporter track since the big three market O&Os have produced many network reporters.

I think KHOU won't waste no time. I think Sherry will eventually get that job she's been waiting for; Co-Anchoring The News with Ron in the morning, while Christine takes over for Lucy at 5 & 10. And Greg will continue to work with Len at 6. If it ain't broke, Don't fix it.

***I think she might be on the network reporter track since the big three market O&Os have produced many network reporters.***

Once again, someone is confusing "reporter skills" with "anchoring skills". Being a good reporter does not mean a person will also be a good reporter. In fact, most anchors make terrible reporters.

Knowing how to look good on camera and read from a teleprompter with authority and sincerity is one thing. Knowing how to gather information, interview people, and write a story is something else.

Besides, nobody, NOBODY hires anchors with any expectation of turning them into reporters. Lucy Noland is a very good anchor, and I think she'll be on one of the networks some day, but she won't be doing any reporting.

Im sure KHOU is thrilled that she left, from what I hear she was very expensive, and VERY difficult to work with. To give you some idea of what a prima donna she was... Anywhere that was red was not a fire lane it was her personal parking area!
