KHOU's new 4 pm newscast

After Oprah ends, when KHOU starts running its 4 pm newscast, how do you think their ratings might compare to 1) Oprah and 2) KTRK and KPRC news at 4. I think KHOU is wise moving Jeopardy to 4:30 from its late night slot, but how well of a lead in to the 5 pm news will Jeopardy be?

Mike McGuff has good coverage of KHOU's plans on his blog.

KTRK will continue to lead with the hour long newscast. KHOU will be #2. KPRC will continue to trail at #3. Jeopardy! at 4:30 will beat KPRC's Extra.

Starts today. Kinda thought they might double-run Jeopardy! by keeping it in its nighttime spot, but no. Oprah is on at 1:05a now, BTW.

Things are looking pretty good for KHOU11. Len & Chita looks like a natural fit. The Big Story on KHOU11 News First at 4: Covering Houston's Restaurant Month over at a Japanese Restaurant called Sushi Roku over in Midtown. Also, Jeopardy is back on late afternoons at 4:30, And that's absolutely great, so people don't have to worry about staying up late after Letterman.

Does that mean Craig Ferguson will finally come on right after Letterman now?

I don't think so. "The Insider" now follows Letterman at 11:37. Then, It's Craig.

Stupid move, in my opinion. They could've at least move Craig to 11:35 then The Insider at 12:35 instead.

But the new 4pm newscast was pretty good and informative though. I'd watch again.
