It's sad really, a great station now tanking. Is this because of the new ownership of the Earl's? or is it that it's current GM is clueless, do they even have a PD?. Just curious

Yeah, I can confirm this: Wife called me at work this week to advise she had just learned Lila the traffic manager had been let go. Check this out though: she had just returned from vacation, walked in, and walked back out with her walking papers. Sad as she had been with the station for at least 10 years if not more. Listened to KBCN this morning and heard a PT'r who'd been on KHOZ last weekend. So two in one week! Who's next?

I understand there is some new remote equipment being moved in, so what does that tell you? Bet they can read meters and make adjustments North of town uh?<P ID="signature">______________

That would be my guess as well. As is the nature of our business, the more things change, the more things change. With 2 country outlets in the same town covering the same demo, I would assume that they may take the station to a new format. What's missing?,, let's see, you have alternative KMAC in Gainsville, Hit's 96 as a classic rock hybrid, and you can pull some AC stations out of Fayettville and Springfield. Maybe a Smooth Jazz format?, not likely, If it were my money, and I knew that it would fly, I'd create a classic country station. There seems to be a nitch for it in certain markets. But that's just my opinion which doesn't count for much since I no longer live in the area. One of the fastest growing formats seems to be Adult Standards, heck give that a go or bring back the old Z format. Hope your well man..

spoke to him not long ago. He is in Texas. Not working radio at the time but was sure glad he was no longer working at what we lovingly refer to as "The Hose".
