KHPT Studio/Transmitter Problems?

Ever since KHPT flipped to The Zone I've been listening a lot - and at least once a week I've noticed that the signal will cut out for 2-3 seconds to silence.

This has happened on several different radios now so I've ruled out a receiver problem.

It happened just now at work. I'm listening on an old 90's boombox. When the audio cut out, I heard what kind of sounded like AM radio when you turn the dial all the way to the end (a faint kind of squeal) - then the audio came back.

It seems to happen randomly, at any time of the day or night, but only for a few seconds.

Also to note the RDS display has not worked on KHPT in a couple of days now. Same holds true for KTHT.

I noticed RDS was missing for several songs when I was on Westheimer the other day, but back home it started coming in again. Really weird.

this was posted on their FB page: "Houston's 106.9 The Zone actually we are having a problem with our broadcast T1 line. AT&T claims there is no problem...however it seems if they would just listen they would hear the issue. :)"... So there ya go..

There may be two problems. The 106.9 signal has been noticeably weaker in the Beaumont area the past few days.
