KHTC is sounding good these days

I was listening to KHTC almost all day at work today online, they are sounding good. Wish they could get KONO to sound that good.

In my opinion, KONO kills em. Better mix of music, more live jocks, better promotions, etc.

I agree. Cox takes better care of all their SA properties. KONO in my opinion, is much better. KHTC is very repetitive in their music. I actually think WWSW (3WS) in Pittsburgh is even better than both these stations. I was up there this past weekend, and their playlist is incredible.

KONO is the station I listen to when I travel to SA. Agreed: KONO slaughters K-Hits. I just wish that KONO would put a true oldies format on their AM station.

It would sound even better if Paul Christy was still on the air. ::)

...and Joe Ford & Barry Kaye. Glad to see my old buddy Dan Gallo is there along with Kevin Charles. PLUS, let these people say what they want to say on the air. the damned PC and beancounter crowd have helped make radio boring!

Yes, I agree it's nice to hear my old boss at Metro Traffic, Kevin Charles, back on the air - I get to listen to him on occassion, while I hear Dan Gallo just about every day.

As for their musc - and I don't mean this as a dig toward Ed Scarborough, but it's terribly predictable, and the clocks and separations need some work, IMO. As an example, I was driving home one night last week just before 7pm and there was a beatles song playing...the next night, just before 7pm, there was a different beatles song playing. Also, there are times when it seems like the music is a train wreck, IMO - going from the Momma's and the Poppa's Monday, Monday to Bostons More than A Feelin' - with nothing to break it up - no announcer, no liner, nothing - But, again, it's just IMO.

With this said, I enjoy listening, overall, and while I like Country - I haven't listened to Cox's 93Q - and it's getting to the point that I can't listen to KILT because it's obvious they don't follow artist separation rules at all - give it a listen and you'll see.

The bottom line here is that the programming and list of safe songs certainly are coming from so corporate programming robot...

I'll step down off my soap box now.
