Is KHTK going to stick with the Mike O'Meara Show?

If not, what are plans for next weeks when the very sad post Don days begin?

Good question...but if it matters to a select few whether O'Meara
can do well sans Geronimo, this website link to the "Battle Of The
Media Hotties" in D.C.-land will bemuse...lol!!
As of this morning, Mike had a slight lead over Don:

At least for now, KHTK will stick with Mike O'Meara when the post-Geronimo era kicks in from Monday April 14. Management seems willing to give Mike, Rob, Buzz and Joe a shot, for at least the next few months. Any show needs time to find its voice, much as Don & Mike did all those years ago when they first got together.

Talk about a golden opportunity for ESPN 1320. I have a feeling that the new show, at best, will hold on to less than half of D&M's sizable audience. Couple that with annoying wall-to-wall Kings homerism in afternoons and a well past-his-prime Rome and I see a good chunk of KHTK's listeners going elsewhere.

Brad -- we know you're the biggest Kidd Chris mark in the western hemisphere. But Kidd Chris' show isn't available to KHTK, and station management doesn't want the show.

Not true. They could syndicate. Remy has been on the show and has talked about maybe a weekly "best of" show. How are you so sure I'm the same Brad?? O'Meara WILL fail. Some of the other stations have already been dropping the show.

I doubt Kidd Chris would turn down the idea of syndicating the show back to Sacramento, since a lot of people in Sacramento continue to call in and participate with the show. Not to mention destroying local shows, like Rob, Arnie and Dawn, and reclaiming dominion in this city. The O'Meara Show WILL fail. Lets be honest, he needs Don. Some of the other stations have already been dropping the show. How are you so sure I'm the same Brad??

carmichael dave has been posturing for that spot. he even joked about possibly taking that slot the week before don's final show.

the mike show is shit. it's so hard to listen. mike is a great co-host, but as a host... no way.

i'm willing to bet that KHTK will let it go for 1 book and then see that it's bombing and make a change. actually, i don't think it's an opportunity for 1320. I see it as an opportunity for KHTK to add more local programming. i doubt that the penny pinching staff at cbs would do it, but i think they'd be smart to put a nice local show in there. I think koz would be a great fit. then give sportsline and cds an extra hour. i heard dave say on the air that he's close to getting a contract- i wonder if they're waiting to see what happens with the mike show.

Because that station chooses local programming so well? ::)

Honestly, aside from Koz, the local programming on that station is practically un-listenable. And part of the midday slot they'll need to fill is going head-to-head with Dan Patrick's new show on 1320. I thought Patrick's show was kinda hit-or-miss when he was with ESPN, but I like his new show... you can tell he's enjoying himself more now.

First of all, in response to Brad..."remy" isn't at KHTK anymore. His job was "eliminated" in February.

Second: Carmichael Dave needs to perfect the nighttime slot in order to get a daytime slot. And he's got a ways to go in that regard.

Not a fan of Mike's solo show either, but it's barely started.
