Shocking isn't it?? If it had been me, they would have yanked the license but they let (sorry to say this but it's true given the crap in Houston) minorities get away with anything..

"Carlos Lopez’s 1300 KHTW Lumberton TX has entered into a Consent Decree with an abbreviated one-year license renewal following an unfounded informal objection claiming the station was off the air the past four years. Lopez stated that he has experienced operational challenges including “destructive weather, poor quality of electrical service to the transmitter site, and general disrepair of the Station’s equipment” since acquiring the station in 2019 while providing evidence of its efforts to repair the transmitter site and return to the air, including copies of bills from its electric and internet provider proving use and invoices showing repairs. The station did however also fail to maintain its online public file. KHTW’s license term now only runs until October 14, 2023."

Poor quality of the electric service? What a bunch of BS. It's single phase to the transmitter building and always has been. He quit paying the electric bill in May of 2021 and Entergy pulled the meter in August... I know because I called some friends of mine at my former employer and found the real truth

You are kidding yourself if you think you will get the station back! Plus the station was off the air over a year before you gave them control of the station so either way the license should have been gone long ago. Carlos has the license. Asking for donations to save a station that has not had a impact in the city of license wow.

Carlos may have more legal problems not only from the FCC but the district attorney.

The station wasn't off the air for a year when I owned it. My FCC attorney is already working on the involuntary transfer of control.. You obviously don't know how things work in broadcasting.

There was a case involving KNLY I believe out of Texas where the FCC declined to transfer a license back to a seller who claimed nonpayment. FCC said involuntary transfer applications are only allowed where there is a death or disability. 47 CFR § 73.3541 - Application for involuntary assignment of license or transfer of control.

And there was a case in Kansas if I recall where the seller got jipped by the buyer and went to state court, and got the judge to agree to foreclose on the seller. Then the seller filed with the FCC and did get the license transferred back. It's happened before! In fact my lawyer was involved in that.
Sorry but you don't know everything
