Just wondering if anyone from this board ever makes it up to Humboldt County and are fans of KHUM. The last remaining freeform commercial FM in the US. They stream online:
KHUM is an extremely interesting radio station. I programmed in that market back in 2002, and became very familiar with KHUM. While it doesn't follow "radio rules" (you know, the stuff almost expected by radio people) they definately have an extremely loyal following. Not exactly my type of radio, but I give credit because they've created a station that means something to people in the local community.
thanx, RTG, they're pretty impressive so far. But I note that they've been doing that format for several years and have no ratings to show for it -- that's a shame.
