KHYI

KHYI needs to do something with the station as a whole.
Their ratings are simply awful.
KXEZ has had the same audio problem as well,
But they seem to be doing better than KHYI despite a weaker signal.
That should tell you something.

It tells you more listeners prefer classic country than Americana.

Simply as that.

Exactly.
They Could Move "The Range"
To 92.1 and Move Classic Country To
95.3 a stronger Signal for the "better" format.

Or Hell Flip 95.3 To Good Time Oldies like KXEZ used to be.

that would work for me...if 92.1 was still playing any classic country :(

I'm just a listener, not an insider. Rating don't always equal money right? I go out of my way to support the range because of who/how they are, and I am sure the other listeners do too. From what I can see, they have had the same staff for multiple years. What other station can say that? That tells me they are doing well financially. I know the the assumption is that all range listeners are good ole boy hayseeds but far from the truth. Lots of white collar listeners, myself included.

In my opinion as a listener, KHYI is the best station in DFW. You wanna hear an obscure song? Request it, 97% chance it will get played, and you will be heard requesting it.

That's it! I'm moving to Dallas. Why? Because I want to hear my Angelina, Rockell, Lil Suzy, Jocelyn Enriquez and stuff that no one else will play! Those were the BEST DAYS of rhythmic radio! Now that whole sound has become obscure. Today's new modernized rhythmic dance hits are good, but just don't fully compare....

Uhh I don't think they're talking about the original KHYI "Y95" 94.9 FM from the late 1980's.

I know, but just couldn't resist the temptation to jump on the "request it, 97% chance they'll get it played" if it was obscure.
