Kickin' playing "cruise" music

OK, something is up at 93.7, Kickin' Country. During the 7am hour this morning Amie and KC were playing all "cruise" music (their words); Margarittaville (many of these will be severely misspelled), Coccamo, Hot Hot Hot, Surfin' USA, Conga song, Don't Worry Be Happy, Little GTO, Brown Eyed Girl. Said Amie was going on a cruise with hubby (20 yr anniv?).

Hmmmm. Blowing off their audience as she gets ready to go out of town. Hmmmm, something is going on at TRP. Anyone in that shopping center care to fill us in on what? The unspoken, unsaid things are in their (KC & AP) voices ........ kinda like when your kids know a secret and are trying not to tell........

You know I couldn't resist this one when someone called and told me how funny you were! ;D Thank you so much for listening to our show again this morning...I'm starting to think you actually might be a P1!!! woohoo! I am leaving for a week on a cruise with the hubby...20 years! We were just havin' fun this mornin....you should try it sometime....actually, I have an extra lei in the studio just for you...come on by and I will save it for ya! Oh yea,,,we have some great fruit punch you might like too! ;)
 
Thank you Mam! You guys have been practicing with the mixer to make the punch since you didn't talk about exploding it all over the studio like when you first got it (I do listen very often to you and everyone else, heard this morning on Paramore's show that Lance is going to be out a while because his Dad has lung cancer just like Phil's Grandmother - prays for both individuals and families; the right channel on 103.9 is in and out right now; Amy on WOOF FM had the usual 'beat on men' trivia question this am; that's all I did hear this morning 'cause I devoted so much time to Kickin' rather than the usual 4 minutes). Yes Mam, I listen to you and everyone. Transmitters off, I generally hear it, dead air when the microwave goes out, etc.

You and RP have an excellent cruise! As the song by Bobby MacPhearson said that you played this morning, "Don't worry, be happy".
 
Jeez, for the record, WOOF-FM's Mind Bender doesn't always beat on men ........ intentionally. It's just that the surveys used usually seems to cast guys as farcical and when I am able to get through on the contest line to give an answer ( a rare occasion to be sure - getting through that is) my logical answer is never correct according to these surveys. ::) Men are from Mars, women from Venus and I'm from Pluto, the used to be a planet ball of ice drifting aimlessly at the edge of our galaxy. Think I'll go home now.

And while I'm discussing the market and stations and personalities, when is the wand finally going to wave on the eighth floor?
 
I want Amie's job! Work on a station that tanks in rating and revenue race, but able to be a "star" jock and take several weeks off to travel the country in an RV on National TV, then be able to go on a cruise!

Hello...this is Amie Pollard...sorry, I had to use someone else screen name mine wouldn't let me in....
Not sure what you are rockin' these days...obviously not radio. I'm still thinking you have me mixed up with the eighth floor....talk about tanking! We are holdin our own at Kickin....ratings uuhh...12+ we stayed flat and 25-54 up....anywho...rumor is our morning show went up too! All this accomplished with a tower and signal that still needs work....I bet you hate that huh? Yes, I took an RV ride across country and made it to TV....bet you hate that too huh? Oh, you wouldn't really want my job.... I took an unpaid leave of abscense for nearly two months...no pay. Revenue not down at Kickin....still hangin in....started at zero and takin more of the pie every month! I am a very patient person ROX....You know I love a challenge! Proving folks like you wrong over the last 6 years....is my best reward! I might not have everything I want right now...but I WILL! So, while you sit and gossip about me on this board....I'm planning my next move!!! :eek: Some folks have been saying I'm done for six years....not so fast, I'm done when I say,"I'm done"....and I ain't done! In another words....I ain't started singin' yet.....come to think of it, I ain't even started hummin'! ;D God bless your little heart!
 
Overall the number on WUSeD went down! Come on Amie look at the book! If you say you went up in every demographic like you did in post, wouldn't your numbers go up overall? When I tune my dial to WUSeD, all I hear is endless promo's, very few comercials, and we all know about the dollar a hollar compaign.

I actually watch the Great American Road and root for the Pollard Family. You and your family are a great representive of the Wiregrass area! Something like that is a once in a lifetime experience! Could you give a hint if the Pollards go all the way...or is it the Coots?


I never said you were done! I get excited watching you and your moves, and the excitment it brings to our market! I am not trying to gossip about you in anyway shape or form. I guess I will fasten my seatbelt and pull it tight waiting for your move.... And by the way God bless your heart right back! ( I know the Southern Belle meaning behind that phrase! ;D

Hold up...I didn't say we went up in every demo. We have made some improvement and thats all any one could ask for. I genuinely want to say "thank you" for the nice things that you said about me and my family. GART really was a journey of a lifetime...I know that we were blessed to have been chosen. I could tell the outcome but then "I'd have to kill ya". ;) LOL. As for the moves, I would just tighten my seatbelt...make sure the airbag is on. It's all entertainment so, Let's have some fun!!!

As I stated before your morning show numbers were slipping before you left TVY. (Falling since '06 ) numbers don't lie.

I couldn't agree more Pnut. Revenue is defintley tanking there, I have you heard the same "You Can Get Great Results Too" Spots running over and over again the last few months like I have ? My favorite is the ones that aren't even advertising with them anymore .
I smell a flip coming on soon maybe Classic Country? The Radio People wants revenue producing station and Kickin Ain't one of them
 
Playing music outside your format.... What a way to run your listeners to DJR. Hope you enjoy your cruise, I can't believe you would leave your fellow co-workers hangin out to dry on a station that is trying to build.
Revenue is good you say? Why do you have Employees that were Full-Time with benefits now part-time voice tracking nights with zero . benefits. Could it be Revenue is low? Keep trading out your clothes for free advertising while others starve. What a way to be a team player
 
Hmmmm.....Perhaps Amie is taking that cruise thanks to some new found winnings? ;D
