Kicks 96.7

Just wanted to let everyone know that at 12 noon today, Kicks 98 WCKK Carthage moved down the dial to become WCKK Kicks 96.7 licensed to Walnut Grove. After the transmitter to 98.3 is moved to the new tower that 96.7 is on, 98.3 will be known as WKOZ-FM 98.3 The Grove, simulicasting WKOZ-AM in Kosciusko.

I noticed 96.7 was on when I left work today. I could just pull it out of the noise in N. Jackson.

And from what I heard, 98.3 The Groove/Grove (pick one ... just teasing msugrad) was just turned off. Chance to grab some DX from one of the five 98.3's in AL while they move it?

Goove/Grove - 6 of one - half a dozen of the other. :) Yeah I noticed about 2 this afternoon that 98.3 was off the air. Kinda looking forward to seeing what I can catch during the next couple of days. Also, I noticed that when 96.7 does their station ID, they don't mention the COL - Walnut Grove. The ID as Choctaw:philadelphia. I not versed well with rules and regulations, but shouldn't they have to mention Walnut Grove in their station id?

The COL is Walnut Grove and should be in the legal ID. I haven't listened enough to know if they are airing it now, but I do know that Johnny Boswell is a good operator. They will correct it.

No doubt about Johnny Boswell - he is definitely a good operator - his stations are definitely some of the better sounding small town stations in this part of the state.
