KID CURRY...ALIVE?

I worked for him as a jock in 2004 and he had what looked like mild Parkinson’s, slight twitch. I left a year later and since he has left Power for "health reasons" anyone know where he is, what he's doing or if he's still breathing? Also... what is his real name? Hard to Google obituaries when a gunslinger from the wild wild west keeps popping up. Listened to him on Y-100 growing up, will never forget him teasing a giveaway... "soon but not now" best PD I ever worked for also a crazy mo-fo! Thanks for the help!

Kid Curry is very much alive and living back home in Colorado. I've known Kid since 1976 when he walked into the studios of 96X for the first time when I was on air doing over nites. I also worked with him at Y-100 just before he went to Power 96. Above all, Kid was my best man when I got married to my future ex wife. ;D

I do keep in touch with him, as often as time for either of us permits, either by phone or email. When I see people inquiring about him on the boards, I pass it on to him that he is still in the thoughts of his former listeners & co-workers.

I can say that he is enjoying life with his family and does return to South Florida from time to time. Please understand that I can not delve into his personal life and post it on a radio message board. It's not to be mean spirited, but certain things in ones life should be kept private, especially by anybody but that person. If and when Kid gives the nod, I will be more than happy to post an update.

On behalf of Kid, I know he would say thank you very much for your concern, it truly means alot.

Stuart,

Nice to know Kid is still with us. I never met him but also enjoyed listening to him on Y-100. If I recall correctly he married and divorced Anna Acuy who was a reporter/anchor at Channel 10 and later Channel 4. I wonder what happened to her. I haven't seen any mention of her for quite awhile.

If you google with "ana azcuy" and you will find a bunch of spotty references, including some small film parts. Yes, she was married to Kid.

UPDATE: KID CURRY...ALIVE?

I emailed Kid to say Hi and to pass on to him that he was being inquired about. I've copied/pasted his reply, edited of course to keep the "personal life" personal.

"We're still here in colorful Colorado. It's been real nice here. <edit of personal part>, spent a couple days at Shula's and hung out on Main Street, Miami Lakes. Toooooo Humid....it was fun. Great food and I still feel like Mia is my other home.

Thanks to all for the kind radio words. Miami was the best time of my life, met great people, played great radio and got to run with some heavyweights. Still a very warm place in my heart.

Be well pal and I'll speak to you soon.
kc and fam"

Alive and well, living in that Colorado Rocky Mountain High.....

Good to hear you're still alive and with us. I remember working with him at WMYQ back in the day, before he went to Y-100. Great guy.. very creative and good jock. It's always nice to hear that old friends are still around even if not in Miami.

Are you the former afternoon drive time John Lee Walker from 96X? This inquiring mind wants to know! ???
