I so want them on Free FM and bump Leykis and Hendrie a few hours back. They need to be on the air in phoenix and I think Free FM would be a most awesome fit.

Now I wonder who Kiss will put on in am drive, would they put the snake man in am drive?

Supersnake did mornings on 103.9 KPTY several years ago...if not Snake maybe Chino?

yes snake did do mornings on KPTY and it didn't work. he is more an afternoon or night guy. i wouldn't be surprised if KISS decides to VT Seacrest or some other morning personality from a bigger market. It is the Cheap Channel way...

It's supposedly gonna be John Jay and Rich from KRQ.

I always thought Seacrest when he got the Kiss L.A. gig he would be syndicated since he has the whole Idol exposure as well. Wouldn't surprise me either. Remember when they had Ricke Dees on ZZP but his show was a day behind, brilliant idea :)

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought Clear Channel was changing 104.7's format this year. Am I wrong? I heard they wanted to put on ANOTHER hispanic station on in Phoenix.

and get rid of their CHR station? Now that would be something, not saying it wouldn't happen cause cheap channel does some weird stuff but I would be surprised to see them do it to Kiss.

Did Univision already switch a station in Phoenix to a Mexican gold/variety format? If so, this is probably what stopped/pre-empted CC from taking a station LA PRECIOSA in 2005. It still wouldn't shock me if it happens in 2006.

Before you call LA PRECIOSA "ANOTHER" Hispanic station, do a little research and see how good the ratings are in the markets it's in. The most recent example is Dallas-Ft Worth. On the Radio-Info Dallas board everyone was puzzled when CC flipped a station to PRECIOSA, they said things like "how stupid can CC be, this market doesn't need ANOTHER Hispanic station". Well look at the most recent Dallas trend, PRECIOSA has skyrocketed to #2 in the market!

Excuse my Latino/Mexican/Spanish ignorance but what does Preciosa stand for? How does it set itself apart from all the other hispanic stations?

I believe it means "precious". What set's it apart is that it plays no currents, it's a Mexican oldies or even a Spanish language "JACK FM" type of format. It's also one of the few formats of any language that can be mostly satellite yet still pull big numbers.

First of all, I USED to live in Phoenix and it got old that every other station in the market seem to cater to an hispanic audience, but you couldn't get anyone to save their life to do Urban AC there. I am sorry I am not as enthusiatic as you about ANOTHER format of the same kind.

>WELL, EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE BUT MORE THAN JUST HISPANICS LIVE IN THE MARKET AND MAYBE THERE IS ROOM FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
