Kidd Chris and The State Of Radio

Dear Kidd,

I'm sorry you don't take us here at Radio-Info.com seriously or believe that the over 29,000 registered users here have an interest and passion for the radio medium.

If your opinion is shared by the majority of those in the industry, perhaps there's a reason why more and more people are content with their IPods or have become XM and Sirius subscribers. If radio wants to show disdain to their own bretheren and its most loyal supporters, I can only imagine how the general public is considered.

Of course there's going to be posters here that don't know the business aspect of radio, but there's quite a bit of posters that have been around the block and I wouldn't think twice about hiring if I had a station billing tens of millions of dollars.

Maybe I have it all wrong. Maybe you're just desperate for attention and think that by egging on your peers you'll become the talk of the town.<P ID="signature">______________

See, I am going to have to...DISAGREE! Thanks Kidd Chris for livening up this morgue! Hell, if it isn't a discussion about where to hear "true" oldies, some bullsh*t station that is powered by two hamsters running in a wheel or some technical engineering-mumbo-jumbo about a signal, the blue hairs get their walkers all twisted.

F-em. F-em all. This is the internet folks! Most of us are anonymous for a fricken reason - cause we have an agenda other than what we show in "real life". Me, I want to express my true feelings about the Philadelphia Metro, and once in a blue moon be entertained by your babble (like the use of the word "ass-hat" in a war of words that was deleted).

The unfortunate part is that none of you are entertaining! Maybe that's why this board is filled with losers, burnouts and wanna-bees bitching that some AM station still playing "oldies" is going off the air...where was the protest for that one held, at the 5:00pm sitting at the Old Country Buffet?

And you know what, I have not listened to a second of the Kidd Chris show, nor did I post in that other thread...he could suck for all I care...all I know is that he made an attempt to entertain, and I appreciate that.

Maybe, just maybe, with that one lame-ass attempt to draw a crowd Kidd Chris actually drew-in one fan - me.

I will attempt to listen...but if you suck then I will have to say so.

Oh, when is he on again? Cause after the Stern plugs are done I can't change my dial fast enough...

Just like one can change the dial if they don't like Kidd Chris, if you don't like the discussions on this board (and sometimes there are reasons to), don't read it.

You're right about one thing, though--"******" is a cool word :)

Gee, smell you.
Another self-appointed arbiter of what's boring and what's not. Who sucks and who doesn't. It's just your opinion. That's all it is Wex. No more weight is assigned to your idea of right and wrong then to anyone else's here. There should be room for everyone, even if they don't entertain you.
OK, just for you Wex....
A horse walks into a bar. Bartender says, "Why the long face?"

I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Correct-a-mundo there Ragnadork! All I am doing is expressing my opinion, only much more funnier (yes, I know). I must have touched a nerve with you falling into that "loser, burnout and wannabee" reference. Sorry about that.

My response was offering my opinion on Kidd Chris's lame-ass attempt to draw a crowd...and my commentary on how boring this board gets. I am not judge, jury or in this case moderator - what I am is a spectator that is allowed to electronically boo. And I boo'ed, no, I didn't say boo-earns.

The sad part is that Philadelphia is the 6th largest media market and the most controversial thread is when someone decides to mess with the board. This is an exchange of ideas, right?

I think its a sad state in Philly radio when someone who is supposed to be a breath of fresh air thinks the "cool" thing to do is knock on the geeks that patrol this board.

I don't like the fact that I'm working in a traffic department while that ****** is collecting a nice big check and saying he didnt want to be in radio but they kept paying him and he does his show prep here. Thats bothersome to me cause I love and miss Philly and would kill to be there and clown shoes over there is generally making a mockery of being a jock in the 6th largest market in the nation.

But I do agree with you the board can get dead with Tech mumbojumbo and the OGL updates are slightly tiresome but whatever. I have nothin better to do.

ah you can't please everyone....
i MISS listening to Kidd when he was in Sacramento. there weren't too many shows i'd look forward too... but O&A .. and Kidd were two i'd tune in daily for. being a weekender/morning show co producer at the time.. i didn't have to much space to play with. it's pretty much intro the song, talk about the station and make sure the weekly EAS test runs.. all while doing this in a cute little sun dress.
i wish Kidd the best.. even if after 6 months he ends up back in the north east as a food bagger.
wicked.. now back to depressing myself by watching non stop coverage of a pipe spewing flood water.

Damn! That was funn-NEE! Har har har! Jeez! Bet Stern never even THOUGHT of a line like that! Hee hee hee! You guys are gonna OWN Philly with material like that. >>gasp, wheeze<< Stop! Let me catch my breath...I was laughing so hard.

Oh, Mister Cripple...we're all hanging on by a thread...waiting for the next HOWL-arious comedy bit you guys come up with! Damn! Too frickin' funnee! :)

Honestly...

NEVER listened to the show, but I DO have to agree that stooping to the point where you log onto a message board and "knock heads" with everyday listeners is a bit much. And even if you feel compelled to do it, atleast use a name that doesn't reflect exactly WHO you are. By the same token, another poster hit the nail on the "******," apparently you got exactly what you wanted...ATTENTION!! Sometimes ANY attention is better than NONE!!

Again NEVER listened, but I wish anyone in this bizzz success!

Reality Check Please.

Everday listeners do not come to this board. They don't read this board.
They don't post on this board. They don't even know or care that it exists.
This board is for radio geeks. Everyday listeners just use radio, they don't have a passion for it as we do. They have jobs, girfriends, boyfriends, husbands, wives, kids. In other words, they have lives.
Some of us seem to have a very wrong idea of the "power" of boards such as this.
I find it interesting too, that some feel they can influence programmers or talent by what is posted here.
