CK: It is hard to explain what I do for a living theses days. Broadcast professionals such as yourself will have a better understanding.
Yes I am another broadcast consultant who brokers permits and stations owned by others, proivide broadcast equipment and avenues for signal enhancement for client stations.
This is a whole lot different than the day to day operation of a station. It provides me the living and the freedom to travel. This summer I traveled overseas for 15 days and had my cell phone turned off the whole time! That was a great feeling.
Yes I also worked on the air at KROY on Arden Way with Chris Lance, Dean Goss, Russ the Moose Martin, Uncle Bryon and T.N.Tanaka and Program Director Roger W. Morgan.
As you most know Dean Goss has been doing morings on KFRC for 2.5 years. Christopher Lance was doing evenings 7 to Midnight on KFRC for the past year. He did an all request show and you really heard different songs. His voice sounds the same as 1976 except it is deeper.
It was really good to see and talk with Chris Lance while here was here in Nothern California. On August 1, 2005 KFRC made its first format change by eliminating many of the songs that Chris played for listeners. Later he resigned with 3-weeks notice and left KFRC on very good terms.
His evening show really did remined me of "back in day" and the old KROY 1975 to 1977. One of theses days I will bring myself back to a radio station operation that has a real emotional bond with its listeners.
And I will be the real Chris Kidd and not Kidd-Chris.
