KIID 1470 HD KFBK HD Radio.

This station sounds great in HD! The sound quality is superb. KFBK sounds great in HD and it stays right in there too. KCBC Riverbank (Modesto area station) is in HD and sounds great also. I live in Rancho Cordova. The downside is that only KFBK comes in in HD at night. Perhaps a new allocation plan for stations nationwide on the AM band is in order to ensure nighttime operation for all stations in HD? The difference between HD and analog is amazing for AM stations. Flame away! I can take it!

And when is CBS Jack-FM, The Zone 100.5, KYMX 96.1, I want my oldies!(and Entercom to a lesser extent, KSSJ) going to be finished installing their HD facilities? What's the holdup anyway? No HD ever at the Entravision stations?

I know of only 2. KCVR-1570 and KMIX-100.9, Both in the Stockton area. Don't know why none of the Sacramento Entravision stations have gone HD yet. I also do know that KMIX also has a secondary HD signal, but i don't know what format it is?

All stations are already allowed to run HD at night - a new allocation plan is not necessary.

(whether they could actually do so without causing massive interference is where the flame wars come in :) )

I would imagine most stations that aren't running HD have decided the chances of HD resulting in enough additional revenue to pay for the equipment and license fees in a reasonable amount of time are not good.

It's harder to make this work out at AM stations. There's little chance of a viable subchannel to increase inventory, and the technical expenses involved in making HD AM work at all are quite a bit higher at directional stations. (i.e., most AMs!, especially in Sacramento)

Entravision Sacramento has the following stations in HD-

KBMB (sometimes)
KXSE
KRCX

When KBMB's HD is on, they run the Wolf on the HD2.

FYI, the KMIX HD2 carries the Super Estrella format.

All of Entravision's stations sound excellent. They pay close attention to their audio. SOme of the other HD2 signals in the area sound really bad. Worse than webstreams in some cases.

Yes, KFBK and KIID sound good too!!

BTW... Check out the RDS (HD) screen scroll on KXSE when you get a chance. Hilarious!!!
