Killeen

looking for some information on the market. who are the real players, and who to avoid? lifestyle information is appreciated too. cost of living, schools, activities, etc. thanks for your help.

Killeen is a good area. Ft. Hood means there are lots of big city features. The climate is awesome, you're only an hour from Austin, and a couple hours from DFW. There's a Cumulus cluster in Killeen, and you're surrounded by Clear Channel, Waco to the North and Austin to the South. Are you thinking about going to work for one of them?

I think the Cumulus stations are all located in Temple, with the Urban station still location in Copperas Cove to the west. There isn't much radio left in Killeen. CTC has a good B/EZ station, but it is mostly automated. Cumulus has destroyed live, local radio in what used to be a pretty good radio town.

I was speaking of the Killeen market. The stations are in Temple, the market is Killeen/Temple. There are stations all around the area including Belton. I'm not sure why he asked the question, if he's thinking about working for Cumulus I can help him out, I've worked there. I asked but he didn't say.
