Also, has anyone noticed how much Classic Rock this thing plays? Don't know too many females who are into Steve Miller Band. My wife had never heard of them. Or Hollwwood Nights by Bob Seger.

Kim must live in Frayser.

I never took the promise of 10,000 songs in a row to mean 10,000 unique tracks, but yeah, she must be repeating a bunch. Just punching past it now and then, without even listening to it on a regular basis past the first weekend, I've caught several repeats. Of course, I've also caught her talking about how there's no annoying DJ chatter, which obviously means she doesn't fancy herself a DJ, given the fact that they have her yammering on about sometihng after every song.

With a playlist like that, Kim lives VERY far from Frasyer, probably wouldn't even get any Frasyer love when it came to diary time either... Like KMS, I haven't listened too intensely, but if "Kim" herself isn't DJ chatter, I don't know what is..People outside the industry can even see through that one. I'm looking for a tighter, more clear on-air sound, before I begin to frequent that station.

but the fact they say you can listen all day without hearing the same songs over and over is a bit of a sham... in fact a lie

Well, we've gone full circle......almost. When I first got in the biz, our FM station was automated with two big 11 inch reels and a large carousel full of carts with drops and commercials.....because it was cheap......also because AM was still The Boss. Now that FM is boss, they've gone back to automation.....because it can be done dirt cheap digitally.......is this really progress? Something's missing here.......isn't radio a "persosnal" medium? Give me a Jarman anyday over a 105,000 quadruple gigabyte hi-def 242 channel server.

At WCLD we called the automation Herman.. I have rewound and loaded my fair shair or reels.. and typed in those endless lines of seq #'s off the program log for the spotsets...

song fades "hear a click" the time is 7:11 " click " (jingle) Stereo 111100004444444444 "click" next song plays
