"TV personality Kim Dillon was recently cited for shoplifting. According to a Phoenix police report, Dillon was at the Dillard's store at Paradise Valley Mall August 1st when a store security officer saw her taking clothes and putting them into a Dillard's shopping bag. An off-duty Phoenix police officer was alertd and reportedly witnessed the same thing. According to a police report, Dillon took a denim jacket into a dressing room, then came out without it. When they checked the room the jacket was gone. That's when the officers stopped her. Inside the bag they said they found a denim jacket, a blouse, a cashmere sweater and another piece of clothing totaling $407.00. Dillon reportedly told them she had the same items at home and was going to exchange them, but had chosen to do that in the wrong way. She also told them she was having problems with her credit card.
The officers said they recognized her. Dillon was cited. According to Phoenix police, anything over $250.00 is classified as a felony, and she should have been arrested and detained. The case has been forwarded to the County Attorney's office for review.
Kim Dillon works at KTVK. She was a weather anchor, but recently started hosting a morning talk show."

I heard about it on Good Evening Arizona on Ch. 3, Patti Kirkpatrick announced that a 3TV personality was cited for shoplifting and said it was Kim Dillon, host of "Your Life A To Z". Channel 3 has a line of former news people who have been in trouble with the law in the past: Jerry Foster, Bill Mosley, and Liz Habib.

While he didn't break the law, Jim Howl was sent packing from Arizona's Family. Dick Layton lost his Channel 12 weather gig for showing up sauced. And then there was that Channel 33 reporter who was caught lighthanded at Fashion Square. Career buster for Kim (at least in Phoenix) who seemed to hit her stride after suffering for years at ABC15.

Thats too bad about Kim Dillon. I've really enjoyed her style and she is certainly more seasoned then some of the other local on-air talent on channel 3. I just returned to the market recently after programming radio stations around the country. I used to work with Dick Leighton at KNIX. I remember the channel 12 incident. Whatever happened to Dick and where is Bill Mosely and Jerry Foster ? Are they still in town retired ? Anyone know ?

> The officers said they recognized her.

I don't imagine that would have happened had she stayed at channel 15.

In other news, KTVK has applied to the FCC to change its call letters to KCON-TV.

Silly girl...

Here is Kim Dillon's profile. Ya gotta love her motto, which is the very last sentence. You go girl!

Kim Dillon
Your Life A to Z host
3TV

An Arizona native, Kim Dillon is enthusiastic about broadcasting in her hometown. Dillon joined NewsChannel 3 in July 2003, with 15 years of experience working both behind and in front of the camera.

Prior to working in Phoenix, Dillon delivered the news and weather at KENS in San Antonio and KRGV in Weslaco, Texas.

Dillon holds a degree in aeronautical technology from Arizona State University along with her commercial pilot's license and multi-engine/instrument ratings. Additionally, she completed her meteorology studies through Mississippi State University. Dillon is a certified SKYWARN spotter for the National Weather Service and a member of both the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society.

As a student at Tempe's Corona del Sol High School, Dillon was elected student body president. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Tempe's Junior Miss and listed in "Who's Who of American High School Students."

Although Dillon started flight training as a teenager, her equestrian competitions began as a young child. The former Miss Rodeo Arizona has won numerous all-around championships in the horse-show arena. Today, she is the proud owner of three horses, two of which are Clydesdales from that famous hitch! This is not much of a surprise, since her parents say Dillon's very first word was "horsie."

Dillon is a former petite model with the Ford-Robert Black Agency here in Phoenix and has appeared in numerous commercials and print ads. In the past few years, she has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Details Magazine, PHOENIX Magazine, "The Arizona Republic" and "East Valley Tribune."

In her spare time, Dillon enjoys creating crafty projects and getting outdoors to fish, camp and racing around on her quad.

Dillon says her mission is to lead a life jampacked with adventure, friendships and fun. She frequently lends a hand to various Valley charities. The motto she lives by is, "This is no dress rehearsal, so get the most out of life!"

Kim Dillon

Kim and her family are LOADED...she could buy anything she wanted from any store she wished to visit.

If she is let go from KTVK for this...following the proper legal process of course...I hope that Ch 3 pulls another on-air audition stunt for her position...THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!! Good timing too...November is just around the corner.

On to others who have taken career side trips...Carla Fox, had issues with people walking in front of her car. Bruce Kelly...issues with the booze. Carol Springer...good radio contest buddy.
