Kim Iverson?

She's a smokin' hot jock with smart benchmark elements. Other than that, you can't see her on the radio.

Would this be the syndicated Kim Iverson? And what do you mean by "benchmark elements"?
That's a new one.

And what do you mean by "benchmark elements"?

Me thinks that if you don't know what a benchmark is that you must be a newbie. Let's see if I can help. It's something a jock has on his show, usually at a certain time, that is identified with that jock and that jock only. A sounder of some sort, lock out they only use, a particular contest or game they play. Just something unique to their show that they thought up and use, that no one else uses or that they didn't steal from someone else. Hope that helps.

Not a newbie, and as long as I've been in radio (since the mid 70's) and as long as I've been on these boards I've never heard the term, but that's okay, now that you've explained it. I can dig it, it's part of her schtick.

Wow, the 70's. You've been doing this awhile. Well, either way, glad I could help.

Another name for benchmarks would be "special features". They differ, only that special features would be like a Top 5 at 5, or The Rock Report. Everybody does that stuff. Benchmarks are unique and brand/show specific. Baseball Tonight on ESPN has a benchmark element called Web Gems. David Letterman has his Stupid Human Tricks. Those are benchmark elements.

I've been in Los Angeles for over 20 years and no one I know uses that term, I kind of like it, but no one uses it the cluster where I work.

Re: Kim Iverson, terminology, and us newbies

Don't feel so bad, calguy, you're not alone. Close to 25 years equity in raydeeohh here, and never heard the term, either. Not to make this thread about terminology, but I'm familiar with the description Stage5 gave us, just not the term.

Well, to get back to Kim Iverson, never heard of her.

Now, if you'll exsqueeze me, this newbie has to go and pay some dues. ;D

former intern then promotions coordinator at KWOD. moved to New York to do TV and last I heard is now on mornings in the midwest somewhere.
