Kim Komando: Not as smart as I thought she was

I'm trying to send e-mail via Netscape, and getting a #112 error.

What's that? Well, I don't know. Can't find it on the Netscape site.

Well, I searched the web and found a reference to it on Komando.com. Since she has a computer talk show, I thought "this is great!"

Not so fast. She says it's a Netscape bug and offers this solution:

Here's my recommended solution: Switch to Yahoo!, Google, Hotmail or some other Web mail provider.

Some solution. If I asked her how to fix a flat tire on a Chevy, she'd probably say "Get a Toyota."

Kim, I've lost all respect for your computer expertise. An honest answer would have included this phrase: "I DON'T KNOW!"

You've got a lot of nerve to label THAT a solution.

"?"

KK provided you with an answer to your question.
(And at a fair price too, I might add.)

O.K. So you didn't like the answer to the question, but it seems to me that
at least for the moment, it was an answer that would allow you to do what you wanted to do.

She didn't say use just one e-mail service over another, but suggested several.

Again, let me state what I've already said...you get what you pay for.

I argued that the Komando is more of a "buy what i recommend" show over good advice show...and i got some responses back for and against. I prefer Leo Laporte for real tech advice or I do it myself (frequently). Komando and Jeff Levy to me ...my opinion...are just product sellers....try some of the tech sites like neowin.net for serious tech research....

That was an answer to the same extent that squirting ketchup in the face is an answer to "do you want fries with that?"

Unfortunately, when searching for Netscape #112, that was the only result that was in any way relevant.

I didn't go to her site to look.

Hey, is Kim Kamando hot-looking? I've seen pictures of her, and she kinda looks hot....but I can't tell for sure.

Kim is, in fact, very attractive. She's also very married to Phoenix talk show host Barry Young (whose voice you often hear doing commercials for various products on her show). Barry is responsible for making Kim successful as a radio host. He trained her and she's syndicated by a company he owns.

I think so, from the pictures I've seen.

But she also seems knowledgeable. I'm sure she wasn't hired for looks alone.

She blew it this time however.
