Kim Peterson - How a once entertaining show has completely bottomed out

Last week while making the rounds in the afternoon I tuned into The Kimmer. I remember when Kim Peterson debuted on WGST in the early 90s after WSB cleaned house.

Slowly, but surely, Kimmer built an enjoyable show. He had the right backing to make it great with Jim Gossett, Pete Davis, Wayne "No Offense" and the like. Now, with all of those people gone, the Kimmer's show has really become pathetic. He is grasping at straws trying to make it work, but I think he knows the end of coming soon.

Today, he started his show by making fun of Americans who are trapped in a war-torn country and hoping to get evacuated. Believe me, I know many talk show hosts only believe 5 percent of what they are saying, but can you imagine having a family member in this horrible situation and hearing some talk show host carry on and make fun of them, calling them names, etc.

How pathetic has the Kimmer become? It has gone past the time to pull the plug on this show. It serves absolutely no purpose any more.

I like the Kimmer! It ain't easy coming in everyday and putting together an informative and entertaining show. Especially when you lose the guys who've helped you over the years. Not to mention going through his health and personal issues. And he is one of the best when it comes to endorsements. EVERY client sees results when Kimmer cuts a spot. And as long as that continues, I don't think he's going anywhere until his contract is up.

Kimmer is better than Neal Boortz, Clark Howard, or even Chrs Krok? [EDIT]. Peterson is a boob who appeals to the absolute lowest common denominator. And the point that he's good because he does good endorsements is the most idiotic thing I've read on this board in months.

I don’t listen as much as I used to, but I still like Kimmer. His show was a team effort and now he has no team. Compare the numbers before and after Jim Gossett, Pete Davis, and Wayne No Offence were fired. I honestly believe that GST is trying to get him to quit.

The truth is, Kimmer's best numbers on record at WGST were well before Wayne, Pete, or Gossett came on board. They only helped the decline. Wayne was a useless Kimmer wanna-be, Pete was a complete embarrassment, and Gossett is the only impressionist I am aware of who has to announce who he is doing the impression of at the beginning of each one because nobody would know who it was supposed to be otherwise.

The truth is that Nancy Zintak, with all of her faults as a PD and Manager...was a brilliant producer for the Kimmer. She actually challenged him to be funnier, as opposed to Wayne who just forced himself (either out of fear or laziness or both)to laugh at and "thumbs up" Kimmer's lamest material. Also, Mikey Rose was a great sidekick and had great chemistry as the fall-guy.

If you want to know when Kimmer jumped the shark, look at around 1997 when those 2 left the picture.

Ugh....talk about out of the frying pan into the fire! JD Wells is horrible. Fake radio voice, topics straight from Drudge or Rush, and it's painful to hear him TRY to discuss local issues.

I heard him comment on McKinney's election woes for about 5 minutes, and just turned the damn thing off. It's clear he has no knowledge of her history here, but at least the Kimmer would discuss how Majette was bought off by Billy McKinney and how the redistricting hurt the GOP. That's the kinda stuff you only know if you've been here for a couple years.

This is why it is nice to have local guys like Pete Davis or Royal Marshall doing a show even if it is on the weekend. They know the story and the history.

Watch out, JDW just might have a relationship with Bloomie. I think he has filled in for other talk show hosts at Bloomie managed stations. Last fall I heard him on the air here in Atlanta late one night (I forget the station), but he expressed a desire to come back to Atlanta. Years ago he was on the air here and I think the old boy wants to come back.

I read here JD was back on the air. So I pop on WGST.com to check him out. The new website looks good!! Much better than the last one.

The firs thing I hear is a caller named Hank talking about a paper receipt is good for nothing but toilet paper. And JD, the brilliant talk show host he is, AGREES. . Then he goes on to say that he doesn't know what happens electronically after you cast a vote. Well JD that's the point. If we had paper receipts the voters would not be allowed to take them home, rather they would be stored in secure boxes for RECOUNTS.

Is that too hard to understand? Why don't we have paper receipts like they do in Arizona? Why is that too hard to understand? I do not believe Cynthia's McKrazy's accusations but at least if voters had a paper receipt, we could have a decent recount. For once lets see if the numbers match up..

I'll tell you what really bothers me about these new computerized voting machines in Georgia is that there was nothing wrong with the old voting equipment. Nothing. Just because some idiots in south Florida cannot follow instructions governments across the nation have collectively spent millions for new computerized voting systems.

You had a paper trail if you needed it plus the taxpaayers were not screwed . . . Glad you lost Ms. Cox . . .

Actually, we just went through the Diebold Voting machine thing here in Nevada.

On my show, Larry Lomax, the State Registrar of Voters took me through the entire process from when we started with no-paper trail machines, and to when we went to the expense of retro-fitting them with printers.

The only thing that was different between the two systems was the bank accounts of the people taking advantage of ignorance of people to wring money out of the state.

When you go to the bank drive thru, and make a deposit, what do they give you back?

A PAPER reciept.

Why do they do that?

In case thier tellers make a mistake, or thier computers, then you have a tangible paper trail to correct the problem.

This has nothing to do with radio, other then to show everyone what a bad decision it was to put this functional illiterate on the air.

He must have some good polaroids of Bloomquist....Hell, even the traffic kid, Mike Young would be better then this sun addled copycat.

At this point, David Paul is looking pretty sweet.
