"Feel Your Love" gets a NY double this week. Great news for one of my favs. And a very Happy Birthday (April 21st) goes out to Kim as well. The things you find out when you write a little column. ;)

Let's hope this has a ripple effect on CHRs across the country. Great mainstream dance hit, and plenty more from similar artists to go with that. I could only hope it expands the dance hits into mainstream CHRs. Very radio friendly songs. BUT, will little JR and SR high kids like it?

I am glad for Kim that this has happened. :) I do hope this opens up more doors for CHR radio to take on dance music. Love to see 92.3 NOW add this one in NYC

But the truth of it is, just my opinion mind you and certainly no diss here, that song should have been added sooner.

Why?

Great song...I'm surprised it took so long to be added.....I don't think CHRs around the country will follow suit with this one...I'm not sure if programmers will give it a chance.
I actually thought either Ercola "Every word" or Cascada "Perfect Day " would be the next crossover...I think these two songs (esp. Cascada) would work better at top 40....none the less I love Sozzi's song.

If people following the records that cross to pop have learned anything it's that CHR's are never in a hurray to add dance records. They added the record once Pulse warmed up the market for it and it was able to show the CC cluster research that it was familiar (again thanks to Pulse) and that people like it.

Those things take time. ;)

I was going to answer your original question on "why"? And you nailed the response here.

When Kim's track came out on Pulse months ago, I fell in love with it from the get go. Right off the bat it spelled mainstream. For me, it was one of those rare tracks that I felt was perfect as is and didn't need tons of remixes on it (other than an extended version of the track in itself). I know CHR's take a bit, and I am grateful that this track is FINALLY getting recognized. It's just a shame that CHR's didn't recognize it sooner. I felt the same way with David Guetta's "Love Is Gone" and Bob Sinclar's "World Hold On"...two great tracks that CHR got to LATER.

Kinda reminds me how it took awhile for 'KTU and Z-100 to spin George Lamond's "Don't Stop Believin'", which was one of Pulse's first new tracks in February 2008. Glad to have a "Pulse" here! :)

I fell in love with it the first time I heard it on WNYZ last summer and I was one of the first few people to call in and request the song on Pulse 87. When I played it at college parties, I got people asking me "what is this song called, it's so hot". And everybody at MegaJam and Birthday Bash knew all the words of this song. So far, the only CHR I heard that song on was 93.3 'FLZ last November during a mixshow.

I turned on my car, heard Feel Your Love and so I thought I was listening to Pulse 87. Driving around, I thought to myself...Pulse 87's signal is pretty strong tonight, looked at my dial and it said 100.3! That really surprised me.
As they say on Pulse, "Hear it NOW on Pulse 87, hear it later on...what...Now?" (referring to CHR 92.3 Now FM)

I don't think "NOW" got up on Kim's track yet! But yes, things ARE moving forward for her and deservedly so. :)
