Kimmer to WSB?

I'm hearing this kind of talk and wondered if it was making rounds elsewhere?

Why would they want him and what would they do with him? It sounds like a rumour that the Kimmer is trying to start.

Just thinking outside the box for a moment, but they may want to put himm from 7-10 perhaps and dump Savage to overnights? I'm not sure what he's drawing as far as ratings on WSB, but I could imagine they would not be beating the Braves.....just a thought...

I don't think WSB cares that much about what they put on at night or about whether the Braves edge them out. Keep in mind they're selling spots at night for $75 compared to $1,400 in morning drive. Of course, if morning drive declined because people left their radios on 96 Rock at night and didn't come back, that would be another story. But so far, that hasn't seemed to have happened.

I agree. Kim Peterson isn't even good enough for WGST, much less WSB.

Latest news I got was that the WSB sales manager was pushing hard for this.

Kimmer doesn't like the direction GST is headed in and would welcome a change and a walk down the street to WSB.

I thought that Ilyce Glink would get the 4-7pm slot if Clark resigned. Similar program, keeping the Howard staff and advocates.

I have mixed feelings here if this is true.

I grew up listening to Gary McKee's Home Town Radio Show. Everyday in school I would anticipate the end of the day so I could do my homewwork while listening. I loved the show. I was sad when it left the airwaves however WSB has become much more dominent without the program. Hearing Kimmer would harken back to my days in Elementary school listening to Gary McKee. However it would harken WSB back to ratings they were getting back then too. I don't think Cox will like the results. I want WSB to do well so I don't think hiring Kimmer would be a good idea.
______________

Okay. It is a rumour that the Kimmer is starting.

GST is headed in a direction? Please, pray tell, what direction is it this week?

You need some new sources, my friend. I can assure you that NO ONE with any authority at White Columns has the slightest interest in Mr. Peterson.

Elsewhere?

You mean other than in Kimmer's office when he told you to post this?

Hey....I heard that Jim Gossett about to be picked as CEO of Cox Enterprises!

actually it would be 1-4pm. Sean Hannity is 4-7pm. But I think that's what you meant.

I never thought that was why Clark had a designated fill-in, but that makes sense. Either that or they could bring in Dave Ramsey and offend two-thirds of their audience.

Thank you! That is exactly what I meant! It says a lot about the kind of day I'm havin' when others can figure out what the hell I'm trying to say better than I can! :)

I was listening to Kimmy at about 3:30 this afternoon and he called Rev. Jesse Jackson every name in the book short of the N-word. Welcome to your new home Jesse!

As for the direction, I guess the lack of a solid midday host and the ending early due to Braves coverage would be his beef. Still, I don't see WSB paying anyone more than $9.50 per hour since that's what they pay the board-op to run Savage Nation.

Kimmy is floating the rumor himself. Still, I gotta give him credit, we are talking about it. Hmmm, maybe Kimmy and Ferrell can team up and air a show on Q100. That would give everyone on this board some major wood.
______________

Kimmer in Jasper..

I saw Kimmer at a bike rally yesterday and he did not look like his normal chipper self.. He was actually rather subdued.. I also had someone tell me this morning that him and the fantasy goddess have parted ways.. Sounds like he's having quite a few challenges beyond hanging at the edge of his seat in the afternoon drive time.

I've never thought he was a very good talk show host. Having said that, I don't wish him any ill will. Whatever problems he's having in his personal life, I hope he's able to overcome them. Sometimes we forget that radio is just radio...it's not really all that important, in the grand scheme of life.
