even though Kimmer is no longer in the house, how much longer can/should GST continue playing his spots?

I realize that the client 'paid' for the ad time, but wouldn't they cut any new adds before firing all the local talent?

How long will they continue to air? ???

Yeah, listening to Limbaugh today I heard one of Kimmer's computer spots. Kinda woke me up! To your question I would like to add what happens if the sponsor demands Kimmer for their future spots?

Re: Kimmer...from beyond

After David Paul was fired from WSB, he did spots for a car dealership he was working for. They aired on WSB.

So if, say, Vision Computers demanded that Peterson continue to do their ads, WGST could either, A) comply, or B) tell Vision no, and lose the revenue.

That said, given Clear Channel's track record, don't think that B is out of the question.

Has the Kimmer issued any statement? Does anyone know what his future plans might be? Man, I'm going through withdrawals. I've listened to him since '92 or '93.

Salem would never do it ... but it would be a smart move for WGKA to pick Kimmer up for afternoons.

Rodney Ho has a Kimmer interview on his blog.

Where is the Kimmer now? Is he still in radio anywhere?

Just spoke to the Kimmer and he didn't know that the commercials were running on GST. He is in Mass for the summer. He does not have the hot rod anymore. BTW Bryan Fuller did not build the car - he started it but never finished it - Kimmer had it built by another hot rod builder in Cummings and recently sold it. He drives a Shelby Cobra convertible now and still has his Harley's.

The post about the commercials was from 2006. Not sure why this thread was pulled up after almost 2 years. Probably should have been a new thread to not confuse people.

How is randy Cook doing on WGST-AM without Spiff? Is his numbers better than Kimmer`s were on there?

It was great to hear Wayne no offense on 106.7 the other day. I only heard him for a minute, so I'm not sure exactly what his role is there. Very cool though. I wish Kimmer would stay in touch with the little people via a website or something. Just to let folks know what he's up to and his take on the issues of the day. Anyone know if he has one? You spend so much time and so many years listening to someone and then suddenly they're gone.

A month ago I pulled out a copy of Kimmer's last Komedy CD, the one with the complete collection of all his CD's. Those were some very funny skits back then and they are still funny now. One day I took my boys to the woods and put one of the CD’s on and they were real excited because they thought Kimmer and Kompany were back in town and on the radio live. They were really disappointed when they found out . . .
