Kinda creepy 1980's game show host

Some of you may have noticed that there are clips of "Just Like Mom" on Youtube that have the show's host trying to get 10 or 11 year old girls to kiss him with mixed results. This has led to a semi-funny (and just as creepy) Saturday Night Live sketch called "Kid Smartz"...

Down here in "the States", if that happened (back then and nowadays) that guy would be locked in jail for a very long time, so why did they let this guy slide? The Royal Mounties should have carried the dude off stage during or right after an episode!

I remember that show well, but I honestly do not recall all that kissing!

soundsandsports, I do think you should be more worried about the parents that sat back and did nothing.

I'm from Canada, and, unless it's rehearsed that way, (and it may very well have been...???) I don't get how it worked out to be an okay thing.

I mean, sure, it WAS a time when a Family feud host was kissing every woman on the show, but COME ON!!!!

It's such a shame because Just like MoM was and still is a great gameshow (on paper), and would still do well today, with the RIGHT host!

There's some big differences between Richard Dawson and whoever was in that clip...

1. The women (and occasionally teenagers) on "The Feud" were more over the line than Dawson, basically throwing themselves at him instead of the other way around. The only guy from "up north" with that kind of demand would be Alan Thicke, who by the way, did a pretty good job "down here" with Pictionary in the late 1990s.

2. RICHARD DAWSON KNEW WHERE THE LINE WAS! At most, he kissed the teenage girls on the cheek during family intros and went straight on to greet the next member of the family playing.

??? Yes but who's responsibility is it to know where the line is?
Someone higher up supported the idea. The show had a 5 year run.
Unless I'm missing something somewhere...?

Who's responsibilty? Why (now) the CRTC of course, but they use the same criteria that the FCC uses ever since the Super Bowl incident.
