Carried in Deal Digest and also at the FCC's website is the sale to Dimes Media of two outlets in King City (Monterey County): KRKC (AM) and KRKC-FM. The sale includes three FM translators with the entire package going for just $150,000. The sales agreement is here:
The FM is a Class B with the 54dBu protected contour reaching from Greenfield to Atascadero. Using the FCC's API this equates to 154,000 people inside that contour. Still, why did this go for so little cash? Are the value of California radio stations that low? (Given this local valuation, I suspect the upcoming FCC Auction 109 value of the Class A in King City will be marginal.)
