Kingbird Retires From Coast Country Daytona Beach

After 50+ year career mostly spent in Daytona Beach, James ‘Kingbird’ King will retire from middays at Southern Stone Communications’ “93.1 Coast Country” WKRO-FM Port Orange/Daytona Beach following his show on Friday, June 26.

King has been with WKRO-FM since 1999 and previously served as Program Director and morning host at the station. He also held those duties at Country “98 Frog” 98.1 WGNE before its sale and flip to Spanish in 1999.
