I think it's hilarious. It takes a record season run and a playoff appearance for KLAC to even acknowledge another local sports team that isn't in the NBA or MLB. They'll still never talk puck though.
Remember they did the same thing with the Clippers in '06...once the Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and the Clips advanced to the second round, the play-by-play coverage shifted from 1150 to 570.
This is a great opportunity to hear one of the best and most under-appreciated broadcasters LA has to offer: Nick Nickson on Kings hockey. Nick is as smooth as they come announcing the hardest game to call. His enthusiasm really draws you in, especially during playoff hockey. Tune him in and enjoy.
