KIOL website gets featured

That looks less a feature and more of a slam: "the Cumulus KIOL web site, which is about as ambiguous as you can get..." The article is about the state of radio websites and how horrid they are, especially if they are intended to promote products.

Agreed. The KIOL website doesn't help the station that much, it is a very old school in thought. That goes for KFNC which is even worse. Don't get me wrong, cool looking websites, but not totally functional, hard to navigate and surf for the user.

Stations like these who have (or had at the beginning) a strong niche from the old days should have capitalized on this and created a community with their sites. DJs should have been blogging, podcasting funny bits and interviews, there should have been listener message boards...etc. Not hidden pages with some having no content on them.

Outlaw Dave tried building a buzz and community on his own site and probably succeeded more than the station.
