1300 in Fresno is now a simulcast of KIQI 1010/KATD 990. Any Thoughts?

Not many listeners...no thoughts....

This is what 940 was carrying before.
It was when Radio Unica was around. When Radio Unica disbanded, KWRU-940 switched to Spanish Religious.

If I'm not mistaken(I probably am)Radio Unica disbanded in 2004 at which point KIQI/KATD picked up Radio Formula for a short time, then becoming an indepent. They picked up the Giants in 2008 after they were dropped by KLOK

KIQI was sold by the then defunct Radio Unica network in October of 2003; the buyer was Multicultural.

Unica also owned 940 in Fresno, which was sold at the same time to Art Liu's Multicultural. Multicultral did a flip plus $ with the owner of 1300 in Fresno recently with Ostlund's local talk format moving to 940 to better compete with KMJ... in English, of course. 1300 is listed in industry sources as Spanish language Christian.

Radio Fórmula was fill programming on a number of Unica stations while they were being sold.

If it was 1980, KIQI was James Gabberts Time Machine,, and what a station,,,, Two legends from the Bay Area running that station, Bill Holley & Steve Jordan,, two legendary KYA jocks,, Thanks Gabbert for the great radio you provided the Bay Area with,, funny thing, i thought radio would be around forever!!! Bill Holleys gone, but the memories linger on,, I remember Chris Edwards calling him Dirty Little Billy back in the day! I used to like that jingle.. Bill Holley, is here to play more music! and that he did! And Steve Jordan Jordan sounds much better doing oldies, than Country!!! Kenny In Concord

Before Ostlund took over KYNO 1300 was a Spanish language religious format, Radio Guadalupe, which moved to KGED 1680, not the same one as Multiculture that was on 940.

So is KWRU a simulcast of KIQI?Also I was wondering what kind of shows Radio Unica had.I believe that Radio Formula was a Sports network,Is that right? Are they still around? What kind of shows does KIQI have now. Also The call letters make me wonder if they ever were a part of K-101,can someone tell me?

Sorry to be such a purist, but "simulcasted" is not a word. Simulcast is, however, and fits what the topic is discussing. Much like "broadcasted" is also not a real word, but a made up mis-spelling of "broadcast".
When I make soup, I usually don't "boilboil" the water, after all.
