With the Iran election fallout and subsequent fatal civil unrest on the streets of Tehran I am curious how many people may be turning into Simi Valley's 670 KIRN.
For those who may not know KIRN airs ethnic Iranian programming and since the events in Tehran have worsen this station has blown out normal programming to cover the unrest in Iran.
Talk show hosts, journalists and programmers for KIRN have been making the cable news rounds this past week.
Interestingly KIRN has served as the base for families to keep in touch with family in Iran, as after all Los Angeles is home to the largest Iranian expatriate community in America.
So a few things I wonder...
...this being a Simi Valley station, how well can their signal be heard throughout the L.A. basin?
Also is it likely we'll see KIRN in the next PeopleMeter book? With the attention (free publicity) could we see a small spike in ratings?
