KIRO ENDORSEMENT SPOTS

Dan - Every so often, a KIRO host would go into a stop set and the first spot? That personality doing an endorsement spot! Really no excuse for that. When Monson was having a house built, it was common to hear two endorsement spots an hour - just from him! Incredibly annoying - and no, I'm not jealous. I've gotten my share of station swag. Actually, I'd like to hear the producers/receptionists/interns do endorsements - they're low paid and I'm betting the spots would be real effective. With a disclaimer, of course.

I also did the Nutri-System thing back in the 90's. I did lose weight and I liked the program. I've gained most of it back over the years but I wasn't a tank to begin with. During the weekly meetings I would feel terrible for those trying to lose 100 pounds or more. Now THAT'S tough.

I've been trying to get in touch with the reborn Nutri-System folks with no success. I'd like to do it again -

LBB - You're smiling ... that's good. Actually, my Nutri-System stuff was done back in the 90's and while I don't recall doing disclaimers, I'll bet there was at least something in the public file. This was before the FCC surrendered to the Borg. But I sure would do them if asked - it is no big deal.

Many years back a CHR I worked had a different kind of disclaimer. The PD wasn't always happy with the listener reaction to winning a big prize so he'd have someone on the staff scream and yell to add punch to the promo. At the end of the thing there would be a motormouth read of : "some winning reactions recreated". Classic. BTW - this same PD told us that for the bigger prizes, if we put on a kid or an old person, he would fire us. He was dead serious. There was one time I was giving away 10gs to the 10,000 caller (back when we had phone ops) and a kid was the 10,000 caller and the op said "Gee, sorry - we just had a winner!" Funny how many prize winners were excited 18-34 females.
