Poor, lame 710 KIRO is now crowing about being on 97.3 FM. They put the AM signal on FM, do you think they'll figure out how to broadcast in stereo too? So far they haven't. Maybe they could get some pointers from KUOW.

The stereo subcarriers seem increase the chances of multipath, (swish-swish) to the receiver, especially in a car, and as a bonus one can pick up about 2dB of volume without a bunch of extra audio processing that causes distortion. The signal coverage benefits of not running stereo clearly outweigh the cons of not having spots or bump music with the stereo effects.
So my vote...shut off the pilot.

When you want to know second, tune to 97.3.

And that's exactly what Bonneville did when they put The Buzz on the air in '94 - so it's no surprise they did it again in '08.

Not that you care - but HD Radio requires the analog signal to be delayed so both will match. By the way - it's KOMO that uses the "first to know" positioner - not KIRO.
