KIRO-FM Doubletalk

A good new slug line for KIRO-FM talk teams would be KIRO-FM (echo) DOUBLE TALK, DOUBLE TALK, DOUBLE TALK (fade).

All the pairings sound pleasant enough.

The trouble is, for someone like Dave Ross, who can provide insight and be informed on "the issues" (though less commonly than he used to be), it waters the show down.

Instead of the enabling the occasional understanding of some topic, it's becomes just a background conversation. It's throwaway, light, shallow, uninformative...like, basically the rest of our society.

To paraphrase the classic Certs commercials

"It's two (CH!-CH!) Two shows in one!......"

Today it was Nicole Brodeur of the Times on with Ross - she's just as boring in person as in print.

And this afternoon it's John Curley with Jodi Brothers. Jodi is great but Curley is just a knucklehead.
AMEN to THAT! I love-love-love Jodi Brothers. And every time they put Curley on there it is unlistenable. Even when he's on with West. Whatever happened to the hilarious West of Crow/West days? Give me Jodi over either of those chuckle-heads.

Well, in Curley's defense, they hired him. And he's on the air.

But I do agree, Crow and West would make a hell of a talk team on KIRO-FM.

Also in Curley's defense ... if you've ever seen him run an auction you know he's "got it going on upstairs". In other words, when he's in "business mode" he's very sharp. So, somewhat like Aaron Brown he just chooses to be a "goofball" when doing his on-air gigs. Actually that's not true. Aaron brown did not CHOOSE to be an idiot ONLY when he was on-air.

I hear Pat Cashman & Lisa Foster and also R&M are under serious consideration for slots at KIRO-FM.

Pat Cashman and Lisa Foster NEED to get back on the local airwaves! Pat has the touch with the listeners - never really appreciated in the old days on KOMO, and well, I guess Lisa was just tagging along with him, but she did add her own special craziness. Not sure they would survive an afternoon drive show, but maybe a total rehaul of the morning show on KIRO-FM would work for them.
