KIRO hits the 'threes'

So KIRO dips down below quad's 12+.

Okay, before the flame-throwing begins, yes, I know it's "just a trend" and that 12+ is a "beauty pageant," yeah yeah yeah. And no, I have not seen the demos broken down. With that said, I, for one, am not surprised by this at all. Are the target demo numbers better or worse than the 12+ makes it seem?
Edited by radiojj on 07/01/05 01:34 PM.

KIRO...
KVI....
KTTH...
KPTK...

KIRO is by far the highest rated news/talk station in the city of Seattle. KIRO is the winner and still champion of Seattle talk radio.
Edited by radiojj on 07/01/05 11:08 PM.

Not really. The focus on 12+ is not the whole story, never is.
The actual leader 12+ and in key demos is KOMO, but if you factor out
nights/Mariners, it is KVI now leading the AM pack in the key
demos. In fact KVI was top five in the last phase. Seems
none of the great predictors and programmers called that one.

Other than that business as usual, as I have preached on
this Board all along. KMPS rock solid. KUBE extending its
lead 18-34, KZOK dominating in 25-54 men with KMTT doing well
too. KRWM and KPLZ delivering nice 25-54 women.

For those wondering, JACK-FM was up about a half point for
its first month compared to KRQI which was in the mid ones 12+
and in the mid-two's in key demo's. JACK is slightly better,
but nothing to write home about. Seems to have had zero impact on
Classic Hits, Classic Rock, Hot/AC or anyone else yet. Time will
tell.

KIRO is in four book and two book decline, but the stations in
real trouble are KTTH and KLSY. Both appear flatlining. I can
hear the Country rumors coming at anytime. Keep it real folks.

Gimme a break, KIRO down 0.6, 9TH. Not a champion.

If you look back I did predict KVI would be the winner over
KTTH OVER A YEAR AGO. KOMO will prevail over KIRO, but as I have correctly
predicted only in Spring and Summer.JACK mid-level player, as predicted. Why buy a ratings book, just check out my predictions months in advance and you will see the truth. Did not see KUBE going up as much as they did, after such
a strong Winter. They are huge and slaughtering KNDD and KBKS, both of which
went up, but nothing like they should have. KUBE was the only surprise in
this first JACK book. See my post above for the complete story. Nine predictions ALL CAME TRUE. WOW!

PEACE OUT

Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody has ever posted ratings numbers other than 12+ demos.

I don't believe it is legal to post anything but 12 plus. However
many trade magazine's and newspapers (like the PI) will post the
order of finish in other demographics or say who is up or down. Posting
the exact numbers outside of 12+ is not legal. You need to check
the BS meter sometimes when people post...I don't post numbers, but will
call BS if someone is exagerating their claims. KOMO is beating
KIRO 12+ and in all key demo's this Spring, as is KVI. That could all
change. The real surprise to me is KTTH, which has virtually disappeared
no matter what number you look at.

I beg your pardon?

Since the search funtion here won't allow one to search on posts by a specific poster, I'm certainly not gonna go back through a year's worth of posts to find it, but I seem to recall that you were the one beating the loudest drum, about a year ago, that KVI would have already gotten rid of Carlson and Wilbur and that KTTH would be eating KVI's lunch on solid gold dinner plates by now.

I could be wrong but that's the way I seem to remember it.

Michael Medved says he gets spectacular ratings in the 12-3pm timeslot on KTTH. He earns a hell of a lot of money and I have seen no numbers to dispute his claim.

Your Stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but leave it to a talk show host to play fast and loose with the facts.

In this case, what are his "spectacular ratings" compared to?

And I'm sure he makes decent coin, as he's likely under contract.

You can indeed search this site for all posts by a certain poster. Click on the posters name after the message title and the window that comes up has a link to "show all user's posts". Here is an interesting one I found.
