KIRO Questions

Here's a few:

*Hasn't been posted here yet, but according to the KIRO Schedule page, beginning on Monday, the KIRO Evening News will return, from 6-7PM, anchored by Tony Minor. Is this a hint that perhaps the old Afternoon news will return from 4-7 and Ross will move back to 9-Noon?

*Are Teresa Joy and Jeanne Lockhart still at KIRO? I haven't heard either of them on the KIRO midday weekend news in a few weeks - its been reporter Rachel Belle instead.

*Is Phil Johnson going to be the permanent replacement for departed overnight anchor Ed Schumacher?

*Ron and Don replacing Mike Webb (for now)?! Haven't these guys been recycled on Seattle radio enough?

They could do a lot better with that arrangement.

Weekend airshifts rotate constantly. There's always someone new to break in and another to promote, fire or give other duties too. Weekends are the graveyard shifts where the focus is on gardening shows, cigar/wine talk, religion, reruns or paid programming at a lot of news/talk stations. So don't expect much permanency when it comes to weekends.

Phil Johnson has had loads of experience at 710 kHz and he's a good newsman, it would be smart.

What they need is a maverick host in the evenings....

Heard Jeannie this evening on a recorder weather update. Haven't heard Teresa in some time, tho.

I heard Jeanne today in Teresa's midday Sunday slot... I didn't hear who was on on Saturday.

Yes, Phil Johnson IS the permanent full time prelacement for Ed's old evening editor and anchor duties. Couldn't have happened to a better man.
