Kiss 106.1

Has 106.1 Kiss FM gotten any better in the ratings? Has it changed at all in it's music? Is there any hope at all for it to continue on as Top 40?

Can't speak for the ratings, but I think musically the station is back on track...The rotations sound right and the right recurrents and gold seem to be in there. The station (to my ear) sounds like it has much more forward momentum, and the morning show isn't (as much) of a pointless yak fest...Props to Steve Rivers!

KBKS has radically changed. The staff is new in afternoons and nights and imaging has been retooled. Mornings used to play two or three songs an hour and now play six or seven. Morning talk has been reduced, but still need substantial content help. Music is dead on. The station is slower to add songs, keeps them on the list longer and plays hits 100 times a week versus 68 times. KBKS is a hit machine. The changes should easily put MOVIN in their place and begin to challenge KUBE. The final trend of the summer book (first with the changes in place) showed immediate growth with KBKS topping both MOVIN and KUBE in the 18-34 demographic.

RP, you seem like a bright guy. You might want to wait for at least a book or two before you get too excited. A single trend means very little, in fact a single book means very little. Check back next fall and if KBKS is up 20% the moves are good. Let's at least wait for a two-book.
