Kiss 108 Question..

Here's a question, I've always been curious about, and I know someone out there will have the answer..

Does Kiss 108 still play Rose Royce's, "Wishing On A Star" at around 11:45 am or so on Saturday mornings. If they still do, what is the significance or who is this song dedicated too ??

Also, are they still using the Ernie Anderson ID's from way back when ? I thought I heard those during the 4th of July weekend.

Thanks

They still do. It's played every Saturday at 12:00PM. The song is dedicated to the legendary Sunny Joe White, easily one of the station's most well known personalities from their heyday.

It may be dedicated in his memory now, but he himself started the tradition every saturday at noon, does anyone know why?

Actuall, it was the late "Disco" Vinnie who started back around 1980, when he left after a falling out with Sunny, JJ Wright continued to play it on his Saturaday shift, and Dale followed when he took over Saturdays. Of course during the course of the 80's and 90's there were a number of Sat. shift changes: JJ, Dale, Ed McMann (who used to bring is kids with him) and so on, and there was a time when it wasn't play, and Jammin played it.
