Kiss-108 Re-Designs Website

WXKS-107.9 (also known as "Kiss 108") has re-designed their website.

What's most interesting is that the top of the homepage does not contain the various advertising links that the homepages of nearly all other Clear Channel-owned radio stations have. Instead, you'll find them on the bottom of the homepage, which I think is an improvement, as these links are less obtrusive.

Might other Clear Channel station websites, locally and nationally, go through a similar re-design??

But no new logo!

It's definately different than the old site. I believe that the old one was created by AMFM (remember them?) right after the Chancellor merger. That would make the old site nearly 6 years old.

But where's the new logo? I thought it was going to be reminicent of KHKS/Houston. They must have decided to stick with their well known local brand then to become part of the nationally-dying KISS-FM craze.

Could've sworn that the KIIS FM website had the same banner at one point..

Re: But no new logo!

With the exception of Kiss-108 (and maybe a few others), most of CC's "Kiss" Top-40/CHR stations have a "blue ball" logo.

WKSS-95.7 Hartford/Meriden is one such example. The first "Kiss FM" (as far as I know) to use the "blue ball" logo was KIIS-102.7 Los Angeles.

And as was pointed out by Justin T, the font on the KHKS logo is similar to that on the WKSS and KIIS logos as well as on most other CC "Kiss FM" logos.

Re: But no new logo!

Joseph, I think you missed the point.
Yes, we all know that all the other CC Kiss's for the most part use a similar logo. They are not all the same, but all very similar and all except for Kiss108 seem to use the "KissFM" name. That WAS the point. We all expected Kiss108 to join the party and become KissFM. It didn't happen, at least not yet.

Who's "we all?" I certainly didn't expect them to change the logo to the blue ball, and "107.9 Kiss FM" or "108 Kiss FM." 95.7 in Hartford changed to the blue ball logo a couple years back but it's still Kiss 95.7.

It was rumored not that Kiss would become 107.9 Kiss-FM, but rather change it's branding to become more associated with the Clear Channel Kiss branding. Rumors surfaced that the station would take on a new logo modeling that of 106.1 Kiss-FM in Dallas. This didn't happen.

Some people were expecting a "Kiss-FM" name early into the Clear Channel/AMFM merger, but it never happened. A few stations have actually done the opposite, notably WKSC/Chicago, which replaced a Jammin' Oldies outlet in early 2001 with the name "103.5 Kiss FM". The station currently goes by the name "Kiss 103.5".

Re: But no new logo!

ill tell ya now...there is no way they are changing the logo. it isnt happening. no reason to re-brand a station that has it's bumper sticker on the back of every other car in the market. wouldn't make sense.
